What does the henna you choose say about you?
We had so much fun celebrating Eid in store and with our online community! I want to celebrate the joy of colour! June is usually the kick starter of Festival season, with Glastonbury leading the way and getting everyone in that summer spirit. Although I won’t be missing the camping myself! (I can’t count how many times I have told my horror story of camping, lets just say I’m a girl who likes her comforts!)
But what I do love is everyone getting together, experimenting with different looks and that whole festival get up! We all know how henna has now become a must have festival accessory. Our range of colours are zero commitment, so you can be super daring and create designs anywhere you wish, knowing it can be washed off as soon as you like!
WHAT IS HENNA?
Henna as you may already know from reading our previous blogs started as a cooling treatment and became decorative, purely because of the strong colour that came out and the feelings it evoked! That’s why we really wanted to create a range that created a different feeling for each calendar month.
OG Henna – Representing blessings, success and beauty! We really created this range to show the full potential of the cultural adornment and how versatile it is. We associate this with weddings automatically, but that is not what is is restricted to today! Where it is a night out, a festival of a wedding, henna will always carry an affiliation with new beginnings, luck and prosperity. That’s what colour is all about!
Jagua Henna – The colour of jagua represents depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom. This has been a winner for us aswell, just as important as brown henna is to the Asian culture, Jagua Henna has this significance with tribes dating back centuries ago! Markings to show you are in a certain group, creating a form of identity, and giving a sense of belonging is age old. The bold blue/black colour is strong, and very similar to a real tattoo look, which is what makes is so popular! The real look without the lifetime commitment, and super striking.
White Henna – We associate white with weddings in the Western culture, purity, and most recently have been told the colour white reflects any negative energy. I find myself wearing a lot of white now, as black absorbs energy. Its striking on any skin tone and we really wanted to make a formula that was zero commitment (washes away on the day). We initially launched this as a summer special, but it quickly became one of our staple colours that is just as popular over Christmas as it is over the Summer!
Metallic Henna – Gold is said to represent masculine energy and the power of the sun, compared to silver which is associated with feminine energy and the sensitivity of the moon. This antique look made its debut over Making a debut on the Paris Fashion Week Runway, this is an antique look that makes a statement come sunshine or snow! A matt gold and silver, is the perfect alternative to jewellery for any auspicious occasion, that you can change up every time!
Neon Henna
Green represents balance, harmony and love
Blue represents calmness, communication and honesty
Pink represents intuition, imagination and self knowledge
Yellow represents fun, humour, lightness
Orange represents creativity, productivity, pleasure
This is our most recent add on! The amazing new formula created as the ultimate party must have! A non toxic, vegan friendly, paint based formula that glows under neon light! Zero commitment and zero fuss, lasts on the skin for 24 hours.
